Established in 1994 Russell Properties is a family-owned business that is committed to building homes of quality and value in Wellington.

During these 28 years, we have built over 600 homes and have gained a trusted reputation amongst clients and suppliers.

Where we Build

Russell Properties is involved in building homes in two subdivisions in the northern suburbs of Wellington - Churton Park and Grenada Hunters Hill.

  • Churton Park is a suburb located 1.5 km north of Johnsonville in the Northern Suburbs of Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand. It was established in the 1970s, and has a current population of 7,900 residents. It is now one of the fastest growing greenfields suburbs in Wellington, and is expected to grow to a population of over 12,000 residents in the next 20 years.

    Much of the most suitable land for development in the capital lies within the 40 sq km stretching from Ngauranga Gorge north to Porirua. The Wellington City Council has set up a draft Northern Growth Management Plan to manage development of the area. It sets out a proposed blueprint for where council planners would like to see new housing subdivisions, new or extended roads, and industrial and business developments. There are no plans for new satellite suburbs. Instead, existing communities will be built on, with the aim of invigorating suburban centres such as Tawa and Newlands.

    Churton Park is being developed as a highly desirable residential area. Recently Churton Park has experienced many new developments. These include Amesbury School, Churton Park Village and the Westchester Drive Link Road.   • Grenada Hunters Hill (known previously as Lincolnshire Farm) is a new greenfields subdivision strategically located between State Highways 1 and 2, and close to all three major Wellington urban centres of Porirua, Hutt Valley and Wellington City.

    The proposed development, over the next 15 years will include:

    800 – 900 new households in a variety of densities and styles, including stand-alone houses, townhouses and lifestyle blocks.

    A business area with local employment opportunities of around 45 hectares in size.

    New road connections, as well as recreation and ecological links and protection.

All our homes come with a ten year Master Build Guarantee (2 years covering workmanship and materials and structural elements and a further 8 years covering specific structural elements)

There are many good reasons to use a Registered Master Builder.
 

Why use a Master Builder?

Not all builders meet the strict criteria to become a Registered Master Builder! It is not enough to be merely Trade Qualified.

To be Registered Master Builder, building experience, trade or professional qualifications and practical management experience are assessed. Workmanship is inspected and previous clients contacted, to ensure the applicant's work is of a high standard and has satisfied clients' expectations.

Applicants must also provide evidence of financial responsibility with written references from their bank, accountant and building material suppliers. Re-certification of members occurs regularly, with checks on financial viability and more importantly on workmanship.

What is the Master Build Guarantee?

Registered Master Builders offer a 10 year written guarantee to cover new homes or alterations and additions.
The guarantee aims to provide homeowners with an additional level of comfort and assurance.
It guarantees the quality of the Registered Master Builder's workmanship and also extends to cover certain defects in materials.
If a job is not right, or not completed, Master Build Services Ltd will encourage the builder to remedy the problem and if necessary appoint another Registered Master Builder to take over.
Your written guarantee will cover or contribute to the cost, depending on the type of guarantee issued.

How do I obtain a Master Build Guarantee?

Your Registered Master Builder should lodge an application for a guarantee with Master Build Services at the same time you complete your contract, before construction begins. When the guarantee is accepted, Master Build Services will write to the owner, usually within 14 days of application, providing written confirmation that the guarantee is accepted.
